Awaken your living room with some plum-tinted minimalism

Temper the coolness of a pared-back look with an earthy hit of colour

We decided to lend some personality to an otherwise neutral room with the invigorating Asian Paints Colour of the Year 2019 – Awakening. Embrace bare walls and a minimal aesthetic, but without the sterile feeling, by trying out this chic and uncomplicated look for your living room

Here’s what you need to keep in mind:
Neutral with a chance of naughty – Pick grey instead of white as your neutral and then make it rich with a statement wall in a completely contrasted colour of plum rooted in earthy brown. Add supporting hints of colour though smaller accents like cushions, sheer curtains or a fresh flower arrangement and bring this look together gracefully.

Artsy influences – Wooden moulding in your preferred shape and size adds interest to the top half of an otherwise minimal wall. Find unusually shaped neutral or metal finished accents that play right into your theme and extend the vibe subtly across the room.

When trying an experimental take on an established interior décor trend, find inspiration in unexpected places - a book, film, piece of modern art or a favourite holiday destination,
