As avid readers, we can tell you the biggest challenge faced by bibliophiles is to find a cosy enough spot to sit and immerse themselves in a book. We’re also here to tell you that just a corner of the house is enough to create said spot yourself. All you need is a little time and patience. Start with the colour palette you want to use – go for deep tones and dark wooden flooring to bring in a sophisticated touch. A dark moulded panel on the bottom half of the wall will help infuse a vintage library charm, think toned-down Gatsby with a modern spin. Now for the most important element – the chair. Opt for one with velvet upholstery that will make you never want to leave. Bring in a centre table to hold your books, a few faux flowers and since we’re aiming for a rich, formal feel, crystal candle holders and brass accessories for some bling. A sleek floor lamp will keep you company because, let’s be honest, you’re not going to leave the chair unless the book is all done – even if it means burning the midnight oil.
