A dramatic powder room

Bring together bold floral patterns and golden accents for an indulgent powder room

Play with scale to create some visual drama in your powder room. Pick bold floral prints with a large mirror and smaller accessories to begin with.

Curate a few pieces you love and assemble them in a tray near the basin. Keep essentials such as face towels and aromatics near.

For a bold look, invest in accessories which have a shiny surface. Think chrome, blown glass and even brass.

We admit – we're old-schoolers at heart. So, when it came to decorating the powder room, we naturally thought of dramatic interiors. And the way to create visual drama is by playing with a sense of scale – either with the furniture you use or the patterns you choose. The easiest way you can make an impression, especially in a small space is with large, bold patterns on the wall – just like this floral wallpaper. Remember, keep the rest of the elements plain and simple – if you use too many patterns, the space will end up looking crowded, and no one print will really stand out. Since the basin counter needs to be well organised, place only the essentials – mirror, basin, soap dispenser and hand towels are all you need. For a final flourish, add some fresh flowers and scented candles.
