In the studio of Ikkadukka

By Bindu Nair

Online retail boutique Ikkadukka’s all white studio space gives us significant workplace décor envy

Ikkadukka’s Delhi studio makes a simple statement in white. Located on the ground floor in Shahpurjat, South Delhi, the online retail boutique’s new studio space houses six employees. Set up by partners Enda Noone and Nilisha Kohli, the online brand sells tasteful décor objects and fashion pieces that have been thoughtfully curated for a young, contemporary audience.

With plenty of natural light streaming in from the windows, the studio was designed as a white, minimalist space with short pauses of colour, that would allow the team to work without any visual distraction.

Their favourite corner in the studio is the big window at the front. It looks out onto trees which house some really interesting birds, according to the duo.

“It’s a lovely place to sit as the sunlight streams in from there across the studio space,” says Enda. The new office space has far more natural light than their previous space but what really seals the deal for the two partners is their location in Shahpurjat. “We are surrounded by lots of great designers, craftsmen, stores and some lovely cafes and restaurants for when we want a change of scenery,” explains Nilisha.

There’s a simple test when admiring a tastefully designed office space- would you feel happy coming here on a Monday morning? We already know the answer to that question in our heads but we are hoping Enda and Nilisha invite us over anyway, pretty soon.
