Co-working spaces get a chic makeover complete with double height ceilings, skylight and an urban chic decor to boot
If you could capture the soul of a nomad, then this is it. The Fort Bazaar is a carefully curated space restored by PWA architects that combines the building's Portuguese heritage with modern day design. It has a east meets west vibe with sweeping white interiors, combined with hints of warm woods, clean lines and tiny bursts of colour. We love how pops of colour have been introduced in the bedrooms with some gorgeous prints from the local boutique, Stick No Bills along with doors and windows that have been painted a subtle shade of teal. Another interesting idea is the hand-beaten metal trays placed on wooden legs that make for smart side tables. Large oversized poufs in bright upholstery not only make for interesting ottomans but can also be doubled up as centre tables.
Just like a cultural nomad, this space has a mix of elements; locally woven traditional fabrics, ceramic tiles from Vietnam, and vintage prints among others. Oh, and not to mention the Moroccan-inspired upper terrace with eastern motifs, printed cushions and brass lanterns.
