Perched atop the rocky contours of the Saiq Plateau on Oman’s fabled Green Mountain, Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar is possibly the highest five star resort in the Middle East. Borrowing from Oman’s opulent artistic culture, the interiors are peppered with contemporary design motifs that depict the region’s ancient forts.
Borrowing from the surrounding landscape, the interiors are furbished in shades of brown, beige and occasional hints of green. Elegant and subtle, the décor is understated. Elements such as beaten metal lanterns, wall art, wooden screens, carved units bring in the local flavour with ease. Traditional architectural elements like the arch, jaali work find their way into the interiors. It is the perfect example of how indigenous elements blend seamlessly with world-class accommodation and facilities.
