Luxury interior stylist, Devyani Singh lets us in on her favourite home décor stores and secret shopping addresses

She’s known for her take on bespoke designs. And even if she picked a piece from a store, trust her to fashion something exclusive and striking out of it. Interior designer, Devyani Singh of The Kotri is known for her eye for detail and keen sense of design. So we thought who better than her to help us unravel the best-kept secrets of home décor. Here’s here list of go-to shopping destinations.

Flea markets: Porte de Vanves and Saint Ouen flea markets in Paris, Bermondsey Antiques Market and Camden Passage market in London and Lewes flea market in East Sussex.

Furniture: You can always find something interesting at MG Road in Gurgaon, Chor Bazaar in Mumbai and antiques dealers in Kolkata. I also like the products from Bo Concept, Nina Cambell, Vimercati, Limón, Baro and Scarlet Splendour.

Fabrics: Chandni Chowk and HP Singh, New Delhi are great for fabrics. I love floral prints from Designers Guild, hand-block prints from Sanganer near Jaipur, and brocades and silks from Benaras.

Soft furnishings: Jaipur Rugs and Art Age, Jaipur for carpets; The French Bedroom Co, Chez M’lain, Good Earth, Zoffany, Thahryamal Balchand, Vajor, and AA Living for bedding and cushion covers.

Wallpaper: I like Cole and Son, Cottons & Satins by Mala, Osbourne & Little, Harlequin, Sabyasachi Collection by Nilaya for Asian Paints, and The Palace Collection.

Tiles: I like Marmo Home in New Delhi, Neerja International in Jaipur for blue pottery tiles and Door Knobs and Sahara Designs for Moroccan tiles.

Bathroom and kitchen: Keha Casa in Bengaluru for their bathtubs and surfaces collection, SieMatic for kitchen designs, and the bathroom and kitchen concepts from Vipp.

Lights: The lights-market in Firozabad and Khan Market in New Delhi have great finds. I love The Purple Turtles, Mother Gone Mad Design Studio and the massive collection on Murano.

Dinnerware: L’objet and Ralph Lauren Home for flatware and Miss India, Jaipur for silverware. For crockery, my personal favourite are the collections from Wedgwood; Frazer and Haws for bar and tea-sets, Alberto Pinto for porcelain tableware, Gien personalised monogram crockery, Elvy in New Delhi and thedecorkart.com for unique finds.

Devyani scours the lanes of Chandi Chowk in Delhi for a pick of fabrics.

Devyani prefers shopping for furniture at Bo Concept for its Scandinavian options.

If you want a great mix of eclectic lights, head to The Purple Turtles in Bengaluru, says Devyani.
For wallpaper, Devyani turns to the luxuriously vintage, Sabyasachi collection by Nilaya for Asian Paints.
