Two new design store launches in Mumbai you need to know about
In design news this week we have two store launches—from a luxurious 3,300-square-foot space to a happy mobile shopping truck going about town—and we are excited about both!
Sources Unlimited, which has for almost two decades brought to Indian design lovers some of the best décor brands from around the world, just launched its luxurious Mumbai store. This showroom has an exclusive display of several brands including furniture from Giorgetti—think functional, contemporary pieces integrating Italian woodworking tradition. While there are interesting lighting fixtures to check out too, we loved the full-height sliding glass panels from another Italian brand Rimadesio that are delightfully lightweight and smooth, and so useful.
While we have all been waiting for IKEA to launch their Mumbai flagship, they decided to drop into our lives on four wheels for the time being. The brand launched ‘IKEA on Wheels’ with a total of four trucks based on different concepts, including Christmas for the festive season, for customers to get a feel of the products and then order online. One truck will be in Utopia City, Worli (Kamala Mills) and the other will travel to various points between south Mumbai and the city’s western suburbs. Whet your appetite as you wait for the store opening.
