Adding a luxe sheen to the home was made easy at this workshop on using gold accents for a glam touch

The end of the year festive season is just the reason we need to make our homes bright and shiny. Last month Beautiful Homes hosted a Masterclass to get everyone festival ready by showcasing simple and easy techniques for using the colour gold in accentuating your living spaces.

Held at the Colour Store in Mumbai, the Masterclass was an hour-long session where the 35 participants were given ideas on glamming up their homes. Finding the right balance for bling is the tricky part, and so the participants were first taken through the specific properties of gold and how it brings an added visual interest while adding a touch of luxe. The home enthusiasts were given references of designers around the world and the ways in which they have used gold in living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens and bathrooms. Decoding the spaces in detail, the participants were also shown how exactly to style their coffee table with gold accessories while layering and playing with forms, adding a gold accent wallpaper, cushions, and other small knick-knacks. The Masterclass ended with a fun DIY session where the participants learned gold lettering and pattern making and left with their own mugs with gold accents.
