Monochromes work brilliantly for an intimate setup. Make sure you play with patterns and textures. For example, if you use a solid coloured table cover, break it with a printed runner. Use coloured votives for candles, or candles in similar shades to maintain continuity. You can put the Christmas baubles to good use by making a simple yet stunning DIY chandelier. If you are not one for fussy table settings, then go minimal like this one. You can pair whites with greys and opt for simple clear glassware. Make sure you incorporate softer textures like faux fur or wool; else you may run the risk of it appearing impersonal. Introduce fresh twigs or tiny flowers on your place setting for a touch of freshness.
