Wow your guests with these new colour mash-ups for your Christmas décor

Want an easy upgrade to your living room décor? Here is our list of colour combination ideas to get your holiday décor looking bright, merry and unusual this season:
1)    Icy blue & Silver with Beige
This light and bright holiday scheme lends a touch of sophistication to the elegant living room. Dress your tree in the same shades of an assortment of icy blue and silver ornaments. Twinkling ferry lights in the same hue and a silver star atop the tree completes the look.

2)    White & Brown with Navy
Set up a stark white minimal living room design for the holidays with brown accents & a hint of navy. A frosted Christmas tree with navy ornaments and brown wrapped packages with navy blue trims add a masculine appeal to the Christmas theme. Pinecones and dry branches in white ceramic vases placed on coffee tables and buffet counters lend rustic charm.

3)    Silver & Gold with neutrals
Silver and gold accents are all excellent ways to bring your Christmas decor into the 21st Century. Modern and eclectic golden baubles, high-end finishes and metallic trees offset with deep blacks, cement greys or pure whites will give a futuristic feel to the home.

4)    Unicorn dream
Celebrate the season with all the colours of the rainbow – sprinkle some magic with pastel colours, rainbow hues and pearly shades. Use multicolour crockery with iridescent cutlery. Doll up the tree with multicolour beads and shimmering ornaments. Package all gifts in different coloured foil wrapping paper to add a metallic shine.

5)    Black and white with red
For some folks the holidays are all about tradition. To add a little retro styling to your holiday décor bring out your tinsel, your favourite red bows and bold black and white striped cushions to deck the halls. Decorate with family heirlooms to add a personal touch.

6)    Monochrome shades
If you love things harmonious, you may choose a monochromatic colour scheme. Make it more dramatic with items in different shades of your chosen colour. For example, if red is your colour, then start at the pink end and move on to fuchsia, rose, cherry, burgundy, and maroon.

7)    Deep colours with sparkling accents
Mirrored cabinets and accents are always a must for any modern glamorous space which can be used with just about any deep colour walls and furnishings. Add dramatic lighting like a stunning crystal chandelier. Decorate your trees with Swarovski ornaments and have a spotlight focused on it for sparkling Christmas décor.

8)    Red and Green with a twist
For the traditionalists out there, we haven't forgotten you! To make this combination feel fresh, layer in a variety of shades - deep burgundy and cherry red with hunter green and bright young pine all go brilliantly together and add depth and interest to your décor.
