Get inspired to give your dining room a new lease of life by infusing it with some colour
Why limit colour only to the living and bedrooms? There’s plenty of scope to play with in the dining room as well, and there’s more than one way of doing it too! Even if you don’t want to repaint the entire space, just retouching the dining table and chairs can make the space seem as good as new.
Bright table runners, coasters with peppy prints and small, tinted glass vases with fresh flowers, not to mention crockery and cutlery too, can play a role in making your dining space more colourful.
Either way, don’t be afraid to experiment; mix and match different patterns, materials and textures to create a visually appealing space.

Go all the way for a monotone dining room with walls, ceiling, rug and chairs in a single colour. To break the monotony however, you can introduce a few decorative elements on the walls.
A bright dinner table can also serve as the focus of this space. You can upholster the seat of your wooden chair to either match or contrast the colour of your dining table, just as Preetha and Karthik Iyer have done in their house.
For a fun, carefree vibe, play with primary colours. Consider having all chairs a different colour. If you have a mix and match seating arrangement, don’t be afraid to prop up some cushions with quirky prints.
If you don’t want to paint the entire dining table, you can just paint the legs a bright colour to make it stand out.
