This Rajasthani retreat makes a case for quirk and creativity
Travel is all about escaping the routine. And at The Farm, one can truly escape the ordinary. Just a 30 minute drive from Jaipur city, this experimental space believes in avant-garde design and living. Unorthodox in their approach towards interiors, each of the seven differently styled eclectic rooms has a personality of its own. Imagine a table fashioned out of a motorcycle, an armchair upholstered with newsprint pattern, a freakishly tall zebra placed near the bathtub and walls fitted with framed portraits of forgotten royalty.
The Farm is a lesson in unabashed creativity. It tells us to DIY, reuse, recycle and turn trash to treasure with a little TLC. Nooks and corners are filled with playful and repurposed designs, showing us how to have fun with our spaces. For owners and resident artists Surya and Ritu Singh scraps are their main ingredients of art.
One of the most unique factors of this retreat is its dynamic attitude. Much like a regular home, bits and pieces of this 16-acre resort are always a work-in-progress. They feel like an environment that’s constantly in the process of creating and experimenting, bringing a sense of positivity with it.
Details, however minute, are of utmost importance at The Farm. Take inspiration from their hand-on approach towards interiors to design your own space brimming with art, and a personal reflection of your beliefs.
One of the structures on the property has large artistic flowers in blue and orange on the façade; A sign of fun and playfulness.
Of the seven rooms, this one takes on a forest theme with dried leaf like rugs, leaf patterned duvets and a massive wall mural depicting a tree in autumn with hummingbird nests for effect.
