Award winning architect Jason Wadhwani is known for his love for monochromatic palettes. It is reflected in many of the projects done at his eponymous Mumbai-based studio, Jason Wadhwani Designs. Take for example this guest bedroom that he completed for a client. The space has been styled with the newly-launched Ador collection of furnishings from the House of Asian Paints.
Jason Wadhwani, an award-winning designer is popularly known for his love for monochromatic palettes. He recently designed a guest room for a client who simply wanted to keep it effortlessly cool while also making a statement. Keeping these in mind, Jason chose soft colours and elements that gave a rich look and feel. The entire space has been styled with the newly-launched Ador collection of furnishings from the House of Asian Paints.
The client wanted a room that made a design statement as a whole. Effortlessly cool, contemporary, and uber luxurious were a few key words that were insisted on. Keeping these in mind, Jason chose soft colours and elements that gave a rich look and feel.
The starting point of the design was the oak-like wooden flooring, which had a greyish tint. Based on this, the team selected the furnishings and wall treatment. The walls were painted in a soothing grey shade, called the Pigeon grey by Asian Paints. This set the tone of the room and formed a base. The main wall has an interesting texture on it, adding character to the room.
Moving on to the furnishings, Jason says, “While designing a bedroom, the soft furnishings play a major role, it has to be a perfect balance between the material, texture and colour”. The headboard is upholstered in a very beautifully textured blueish grey fabric from the Ador collection. Next, he chose black and white fabrics from the Tattva range with simple patterns for a quirky stool that went in at the base of the bed. An accent armchair is also part of the setting, which is furnished in a velvet blue that pops up in the look, but is yet extremely opulent.
To complete the look, Jason chose a playful Roll and Hill pendant light to go over the side tables. These have an accent metal body and soft lights portraying the same story as the rest of the room.
