Easy Makeovers – A Beautiful Homes Masterclass at AP Homes, Raipur
The workshop showed participants simple makeover ideas for the home using colour blocking and stenciling techniques
When it comes to home improvement, we are always eager to switch things up and dive right into the world of DIY, but often stumble when it comes to techniques. At the beginning of this month, Beautiful Homes hosted a Masterclass that showed simple and easy techniques that can immediately spruce up a home – Colour Blocking and Stencilling.
Held at the AP Homes store in Raipur, the Masterclass was an hour-long session that gave participants a crash course in using these techniques to give their homes an easy and quick makeover. The participants tried their hands at making coasters using colour blocking and cushions using stencils. The participants comprised budding interior designers and home owners, and apart from creating the cushions and coasters, they also had a chance to explore how these techniques could be applied to larger surfaces in the house for greater impact.
The table décor, inspired by colour blocking had a bold, black and white striped wallpaper as a runner, gold painted animals, bright, yellow chevron-patterned glasses, palm leaves and hand-painted coasters. Something you could try at your next brunch, maybe?
At the Beautiful Homes Masterclass, the table was decorated with striped wallpaper, hand-painted coasters, chevron printed napkins and glasses and palm leaves.
Guests used bright and bold colours to create their colour blocked coasters. The idea was to figure how different shades work together to bring surfaces to life.
The highlight of the Masterclass was participants combining the two techniques to create colour-blocked cushion covers with stencilling.
Participants enjoyed the coaster making session that revolved around colour blocking techniques.
At the end of the Masterclass, participants created five coasters using colour blocking and two cushion covers with stencilled patterns.
The guests were given goodie bags decorated with pom-poms containing all the materials they would need to execute the stencilling and colour blocking techniques.
Cushion covers were made using stencilling – while some chose the single colour route, others went all out with bright colour combinations.
