Ace designer and architect Ashiesh Shah spins some straight-lined magic for online furniture retailer UrbanLadder
There is a buzz in the air lately, with the promise of new beginnings and creative collaborations. We’ve got our eyes set on the launch that has taken the design world by storm – Wabi Sabi collection by Ashiesh Shah for Urban Ladder. The first launch of a four-part collection is making noise for all the right reasons.
The intrinsically Indian yet contemporary feel of the furniture instantly caught our eye, with a teak and cane body complemented with brass and faux leather details. Inspired by the Japanese philosophy of minimalism and simplicity, the Wabi Sabi series reflects straight lined elements softened by generous curves.
The range comprises four décor elements: Bethak sofas, chairs and single seaters; Mej dining and coffee tables and trolleys; Parchayee mirrors and lamps and Basera side tables and pouffes.
Take a look at our favourite picks in the gallery below.
This simple lamp from the Wabi Sabi collection would make any bedside table come alive.
The austere simplicity of the Bethak dining chair is softened by brass accents and plush backrest and seat.
Mej side table has a secret compartment to store away knick-knacks that tend to go missing. Can you spot it?
A cane jali envelopes the single seat Bethak whose backrest has faux leather highlights.
