Give your small balcony a new lease on life with these easy to follow ideas
If you’re lucky enough to have a balcony in your home, don’t take the space for granted. These little open spaces are often overlooked but using the right elements can give it a life of its own and even make it seem like a natural extension of the room.
Keep in mind that the area you have is limited so plan your balcony space accordingly. Make room for the essentials first – chairs, a small table and a few planters. Cane chairs, cotton durries and mudda stools are easy to move, cost effective and are resistant to harsh weather.
Succulents that you’ve placed in the living room can be moved here – you can keep place them around the edge of the balcony or in a fancy vase on the table. Marigolds, roses, Indian basil and snake plants are relatively easy to purchase and require less maintenance.
Last but not the least, if you want to add a few decorative elements to your balcony, brass and copper pots and showpieces can be placed for a little bling.
