Getting a good night’s rest starts with the right bed linen. Online lifestyle brand Himêya is here to change the way you unwind
Bedding is one of the most important and intimate things we buy for our home, given that we spend, or at least should spend, a third of our day on the bed. And Himêya is devoted to making it count. The Bengaluru-based brand launched in March this year with a line of soft, lightweight bed linen and bath essentials. It aims to fill the massive gap in the market—by making good design and great quality available at a democratic price point. Take, for instance, their fitted sheets which do away with the fuss of tucking them in, while reversible pillowcases offer the option of a change in a single product. Reducing waste during the production process, sourcing sustainably grown cotton, using eco-friendly packaging and recycled-paper inserts are other efforts that lie at the core of the brand’s philosophy, tied intrinsically with adopting green practices.
Over the next few months, the label plans to collaborate with the Mumbai-based fashion studio Runaway Bicycle on its second collection titled Moontide, and with master embroiderer Maximiliano Modesti on exploring embellishing a simple product like bedding with hand-embroidery. Clearly, this is a brand that is intent on changing the conversation when it comes to luxury and sustainability and its seamless integration into our everyday life.
